The forging is deburred under a 20-t to 30-t press
to obtain the slug.
Then the rivet hole is bored into the slug and countersunk for the rivet head. The joint, jaw profile and the rear of the cutting edges are milled.
The two halves of the pliers are put on top of each other, riveted and aligned.
The heads of the pliers are roughly ground into shape by machine and by hand.
The fine machining is not done until after hardening.
